PIERCETON — There’s still time to head out to Pierceton for the open house at LexLil Rental and Retail, 515 S. First St.
An official ribbon cutting for the company’s new retail store was held this morning, May 13 and is being followed with an open house until 2 p.m. There is a bouncy house, hot dogs, hamburgers and cheeseburgers, chips and three different kinds of homemade cookies. There’s also a drawing and deals on various products.
The special deals will continue throughout the upcoming week.
Stop in to see the wide variety of Makita tools, construction items and accessories, pool supplies, and rental items available.
The unique name of the business was the creation of Owners Chris and Samantha Staley. LexLil is the combination of the names of their two daughters, Lexee and Lilee.
The Staleys started the business three years ago on US 30 and made the decision to open a retail store. “We’re one of two authorized Makita dealers in Northern Indiana,” said Samantha Staley. The shelves are full Makita products to suit any need.
The business also offers heavy equipment rentals such as excavators, tractors, skid steers and rentals on tillers, small tools, outdoor equipment and more. They also handle construction materials.
Among the rentals are popular bouncy houses. Tiffany Tarlton, office manager, stated there are four bouncy houses available. Two are water slides, which can be used wet or dry; one with a slide; and the standard bouncy house. These can be rented for the day or by the weekend for parties, family gatherings or just for fun. “The water slides are popular during the summer,” said Tarlton.
“We are happy to have them in a more prominent location,” said Kelsea DeGaetano, Pierceton Chamber President, “and we’re excited too for what this brings for our community.”
Samantha Staley gives a lot of credit to those who work behind the counter at the store. “We cannot do this without the people behind the counter,” she said. “They make things go.” This includes Tarlton, who manages the office and helps with phone calls and rentals. The other person behind the counter is Matthew Stephens, who is in charge of retail sales. Stephens oversees the rental equipment and makes sure things are delivered properly and on time.
LexLil’s is open 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7 a.m. to noon on Saturday.
