TVHS Theatre Presents ‘Bye Bye Birdie’ Starting Tomorrow
Staff Report
AKRON — Tippecanoe Valley High School Theatre presents its spring musical “Bye Bye Birdie” starting tomorrow, March 25.
Show times are 7 p.m. that night and 7 p.m. Friday, March 26, and 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday, March 27.
“Bye Bye Birdie” tells the story of music producer Albert Peterson whose star, Conrad Birdie, has just been drafted into the Army. The story develops as Peterson’s secretary helps him create a big send-off for Birdie with him performing on television and bestowing “One Last Kiss” to lucky fan Kim MacAfee.
What Peterson and his secretary don’t consider is what MacAfee’s jealous boyfriend might do.
Attendees are encouraged to dress in their best ’50s outfits to add to the atmosphere. Tickets are $5 and sold at the door. There will be a limit of 150 tickets per performance, and attendees are required to wear face coverings at all times while in the building.
Break-a-leg buddies will also be available for purchase to encourage a favorite cast member.
