WARSAW — A solar panel business has relocated to Warsaw.
The Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce had a ribbon-cutting for Advanced Solar Distributing on Wednesday, March 24. Formerly located in Leesburg, the company set up at its new location at 474 W. Levi Lee Road, Warsaw, a few weeks ago.
Owner Glen Miller started the business in 2013.
“We offer residential, commercial, agricultural solar systems for pretty much anybody in Northern Indiana,” said Miller. “We do not-for-profit … we do solar systems on RVs.”
The company designs the setup of and installs a variety of sizes of rooftop and ground panels.
Miller said the company’s done slightly more residential projects than commercial.
“Commercial’s definitely picking up and they have higher incentives on the commercial side,” Miller said.
Some of the company’s commercial projects in Warsaw have included Global Auto and NAPA.
The benefits of solar power include the production of one’s own energy as well as financial incentives.
“The big incentive right now is a … tax credit. That’s on any system; it doesn’t matter if it’s residential or commercial,” said Miller. “Any small business or commercial ag, we can do grants for.”
“If you install a $20,000 system on your home … you can fill out a paper with the state of Indiana and they will not assess that to your taxes,” added Office Manager John Moorman.
The company can finance both in-house and through banks.
Business hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
“We strive for educating our customers prior to buying anything and delivering quality and customer service,” said Miller.
