Richard T. Johnson
Richard T. Johnson, of Winona Lake, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023, at the age of 90. Born on Jan. 5, 1933, in Detroit, Richard was the only son of Leonard and Gladys (Knecht) Johnson.
After graduating from Warsaw High School in 1951, Richard enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served his country until he was honorably discharged in 1953. On April 30, 1955, he married the love of his life, Norma Keplinger, and together, they raised their four children.
A zealous and diligent individual, Richard worked as a tool and die maker for Arnolt Corp. and, later, OEC Medical until his retirement in 1998. He was a member of the Warsaw Masonic Lodge No. 73 F. & A.M., the Fort Wayne Scottish Rite, the Warsaw American Legion Post No. 49 and First Christian Church, where he often volunteered his time and served as their deacon for several years. Richard also enjoyed old cars and, most of all, spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his kind heart and willingness to help anyone.
Richard will be deeply missed by his children, Steven (Sally) Johnson, Catherine (Stuffy) Folds, Douglas (Sue) Johnson, and James (Marsha) Johnson; 13 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma; parents, Leonard and Gladys; and sister, Beverly Johnson.
