Valentine Events And More At Syracuse Library
SYRACUSE — Valentine’s events and more announced at the Syracuse Public Library.
Replace your worn out or lost Syracuse Library card for free during the month of February. Several other sweet events bring joy during Library Lover’s Month. The annual cookie decorating is on Thursday afternoon on February 13from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. It’s a great time to visit and have Valentine’s connection. Adults will get a chance to receive a box of chocolates by correctly guessing the marbles in a jar from Feb. 14 through Feb. 29.
Scrabble Sunday offers an afternoon of playing for fun on Sunday, Feb. 9 from 1-4 p.m., but the library is not open for business. Food from Fiction book club is going out to eat and discussing food from “The Joy Luck Club” on Feb. 13 at the new time of 12 p.m. Mahjong will resume in March.
Sign up for a library road trip to see the free Smithsonian exhibit, “Crossroads: change in rural America.” The group will drive in private vehicles to The Elkhart Historical Museum in Bristol on Friday, Feb. 28 at 1 p.m. The exhibit will be traveling to North Manchester in mid-March.
Homeschoolers are visiting Italy for food, culture, and history during February. Each week is a different adventure.
Homeschooling families are invited to a morning at the Syracuse Library on Fridays at 10:30 a.m.
The McGee’s decluttering meets for support and idea strategies on Tuesday, Feb. 4 at 1 p.m. Selecting the right plan of action is different for each person and situation.
The Friends invite other library lovers to join them at their monthly meeting on Thursday, Feb. 6 at 10:30 a.m. After the meeting plan to go out for lunch.
Dungeons and Dragons has one Monday playing time on Monday, Feb. 3 at 4 p.m. On Fridays they play each week from 2-6 p.m. Young adults are invited to try out the group.
Weekly programs for all ages are scheduled through the week: storytimes, Monday at 10:30 a.m., Pyramid chair yoga on Tuesday at 10:15 a.m., Wednesday, tot time at 10:30 a.m. and Workone from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., Thursday’s offering are Advanced chair yoga at 9:15, after-school fun at four, and String Theory knitting and crocheting craft group at 5 p.m.
