North Webster Community Public Library Announces Upcoming Events
NORTH WEBSTER — Kids are continuing to learn that “Libraries Rock” through the Summer Reading Program at North Webster Community Public Library. In addition to prizes earned for reading, each week is packed with activities that make learning fun.
Next week starts off with Musical Experience Time at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 2 and again on Thursday, July 5 when kids experience different kinds of instruments and musical sounds. Family Story Time continues on Tuesday with a choice of two sessions at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. as preschoolers and their siblings learn through stories, activities and crafts.
Always a popular event, Family Bingo is planned for 1 p.m. Thursday, July 5. With lots of prizes to give away and many chances to win, everyone goes home with a handful of prizes. Family Bingo is easy for kids of all ages to play.
This week wraps up with Make It/Take It Craft Day on Friday, July 6. Children can stop by the Youth Services Department anytime between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. to create a craft or they can take it home to complete.
Paws-To-Read appointments are also scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday, July 6. Children who signed up in advance will have a private 15 minute reading session with Echo, a registered therapy dog. It provides children an opportunity to practice their oral reading skills while enjoying the company of a lovable canine. To schedule an appointment with Echo, contact the Youth Services Desk.
Kids who are registered for the Summer Reading Program are reminded to bring their reading passports to library activities and events to get stamped for extra credit toward prizes. If you haven’t signed your child up yet, it’s not too late. They can register any time and start earning prizes until July 28.
The library has added many new adult titles to its collection. Stop by and browse through the new arrivals. The library will be closed Wednesday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day.
