I am writing to endorse Tyler Huffer in his bid for re-election to the position of Kosciusko County coroner.

Having served as the administrative assistant in the coroner’s office since 2015, and having been employed in various capacities within Kosciusko County for 20 years, I have had the privilege of witnessing Tyler’s dedicated and transformative leadership firsthand.

Since assuming the role of coroner on Jan. 1, 2023, Tyler has approached his duties with a fresh perspective, actively seeking input from staff, county officials and department heads. He has not only implemented his own ideas for improvement but has also welcomed and acted upon suggestions from other departments, fostering collaboration and efficiency for the office. Additionally, Tyler has worked closely with the Kosciusko County Council to address budgeting issues, demonstrating his commitment to responsible fiscal management.

One of the most commendable aspects of Tyler’s tenure is his unwavering dedication to the responsibilities of the coroner’s office, despite it being a part-time, on-call position. Tyler’s flexibility and availability have allowed him to respond promptly to coroner calls throughout the week, ensuring that the needs of the community are met with professionalism and compassion. Furthermore, under Tyler’s leadership, the coroner’s office has become more inclusive, with staff representing three funeral homes in Kosciusko County.

I have the utmost respect for the mental and emotional challenges associated with the role of coroner, and Tyler has navigated these with remarkable compassion while maintaining the professionalism required for such a demanding position.

Tyler Huffer has proven himself to be a dedicated public servant who is committed to improving the operations of the coroner’s office and serving the residents of Kosciusko County with integrity and compassion. I wholeheartedly endorse his re-election and urge others to support him in his continued efforts to serve our community.
