Patty Horn — UPDATED
Patty (Coy) Horn, 76, Mentone, died Jan. 15, 2023, at Goshen Hospital, Goshen. After several courageous years battling cancer, surrounded by family, she laid down her earthly burdens.
True to her nature throughout her life, Patty donated her body to the IU Anatomical Education Program. Her final wish was to ensure she could benefit others in any possible way.
Patty was born Feb. 4, 1946, in Goshen, to Arthur Coy and Marcella (Kiem) Coy. She graduated from Syracuse High School in 1964. She married Arthur Horn on Sept. 2, 1977. She held many roles in the workforce throughout the years. She was particularly proud of her time serving at Triton Jr.-Sr. High School, helping ensure all students had an equal education. After earning her accounting degree from Purdue (extension campus), she continued her career at KCH. Patty knew no stranger and proudly hosted many young people. She was the second mom to countless and is remembered fondly by family, friends and all that knew her.
Patty was greeted at Heaven’s door by her parents, three sisters and two brothers.
Patty is survived by her husband, Arthur Horn, Mentone; three children, Timothy (Shelley) Horn, Mentone, Tonya (Mike) Wannemacher, Fishers and Tracey, Austin, Texas; seven grandchildren, Calieb, Nathan, Nichole, Kendall, Trey and Adelyn; five great-grandchildren, Anabella, Camilla, Charlotte, Benjamin and Lydia; and many nieces, nephews and cousins that will miss her dearly.
A memorial and celebration of life will be hosted by the family at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, at McHatton Sadler Funeral Chapels, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw.
A gathering with family and friends will be held prior to the memorial service from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a light meal provided.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family requests that memorials be given to the Goshen Health Foundation, 1701 S. Main St., Goshen, IN 46526 or a charity of your choice in her honor.
