NORTH WEBSTER — The ladies of the North Webster American Legion Auxiliary accepted a generous gift from Zimmer Biomet’s Veterans Resource Group during a brief ceremony on Friday evening, Dec. 10.

Cat Bowers, left, representing Zimmer Biomet’s Veterans Resource Group, presented a $2,000 check to the North Webster American Legion Auxiliary to help with maintenance and upkeep of the Legion’s transport vans. Cat Bowers of Zimmer Biomet presented Auxiliary President Cindy Kennedy with a check for $2,000, which will be used for Legion Post #253’s van fund for maintenance and repairs. The Legion uses the vans to transport veterans to and from the VA hospital.

“It’s really important to  Zimmer Biomet to keep (our donations) close to home,” said Bowers. “We realized that the vans are taking  several trips to Indianapolis to go to the VA, and that requires lots of maintenance, so this is close to my heart. We hope that this is just the beginning of our partnership.”
