Cub Scout Pack 3761 Holds Pinewood Derby And Cake Auction
PIERCETON — Cub Scout Pack 3761 held their annual Pinewood Derby and Cake Auction on Feb. 23 at Pierceton American Legion Post 258.
Eleven Cub Scouts and six family members designed their Pinewood Derby car from a small block of wood, added tires and weight, then raced their cars on a Pinewood Derby track.
Trophies received for the Cub Scout race were first place by Bryce Gagnon, second place by Skyler Daeger and third place by Emily Wysong.
Family race winners were first place by Machaela Daeger, second place by Scott Jones and third place by Leo Condinho.
Trophies for specially-designed cars were Hometown Heroes theme by Carter Burkett; Judges’ Choice by Bobby Serna and Nara Jensen; Most Unique design by Oliver Koser; and Strangest Shape design by Gwen Serna.
All Cub Scouts received a 2019 Pinewood Derby patch. Thank you to Columbia City Scout BSA Troop 84 Leaders and Scouts for providing and running the computerized pinewood derby track, along with Pierceton Scouts BSA Troop 761 Leaders and Scouts.
A special thank you to the families, community members and leaders and local businesses that purchased a cake during our annual cake auction. Special thanks to Jack Phillips, Auctioneer Gary Phillips and Pierceton American Legion members.
Trophies for specially-designed cakes were first place by Gage Utter, second place by Caeden Green and third place by Carter Burkett; Animal theme by Bobby Serna; Heroes or Villains theme by Oliver Koser; Outdoor Nature theme by Emily Wysong; and Scouting theme by Link Koser. All Cub Scouts received a special Cake designing patch.
Cub Scouts who raced a Pinewood Derby car, donated a cake to our auction or are Cub Scout Pack 3761 members include Caeden Green, Nara Jensen, Gwen Serna, Emily Wysong, Gavin Ford, Bobby Serna, Gage Utter, Anna Ford, Evan Bennett, Carter Burkett, Skyler Daeger, Bryce Gagnon, Oliver Koser and Link Koser.
