WCPL Announces 11th Annual Photography Contest Winners
WARSAW — The Warsaw Community Public Library’s 11th annual amateur photography contest grand prize winner is Michael Samuels, Warsaw.
The grand prize and first place entry in the black and white category was “The Rock” by Samuels. Second place was “Frosted Leaves,” presented by James P. Barber, Warsaw. Third place was “Braying Bull Bison,” presented by Leo Dean Jansen, Warsaw. Honorable mentions were given to “Hold That Thought,” presented by Craig Tidball, Warsaw; and “The Last Leaf,” presented by Barber.
In the color category, first place was “Battling Bull Moose,” presented by Jansen. Second place and staff choice went to “Barn Cat,” presented by Steve Olsen, North Manchester; and third place, “Proud Pageant,” presented by Bev Eshleman, Warsaw. Honorable mentions were given to “Running Late Through Madrid,” presented by Kim Baney, Warsaw; “First Snow,” presented by Kimberly Morgan, Winona Lake; “An Icy Perch,” presented by James Davis; and “The Talls,” presented by Samuels.
The grand prize was a 16-inch by 20-inch canvas package donated by Blosser’s Camera Portrait Studio. Judges were Bonnie Phillips, Bonnie Phillips Photography; Jamie Johnson, Signature Studio; and Brandi Reis, Brandi Reis Photography Professional Services.
The photographs will be on display downstairs in the hall of fame ramp and upstairs in the adult area showcases of the Warsaw Community Public Library through Thursday, Jan. 31.
