Warsaw Parks Department Has Busy Weekend Full Of Events
WARSAW — The following is a list of events happening with the Warsaw Parks and Recreation Department this weekend.
Central Park Concert Series
The city of Warsaw Parks and Recreation Department is pleased to hold the Central Park Concert Series at the Central Park Plaza at 7 p.m. Friday, June1. Enjoy the entertainment of Kevin Purcell & The Nightburners, a blues and rock band. The band starts playing at 7 PM and will play until 8:30 PM. Bring your lawn chair or favorite blanket and enjoy this evenings perfect weather for an outdoor concert.

Free Kids’ Fishing Derby
From 8 to 11:30 a.m on Saturday June 2, the Warsaw Parks and Recreation Department will be kicking off the summer season with the free annual Kids Fishing Derby and Casting Contest. For this event, the ages range from three to sixteen. Each age will be split up into. In addition to the goodie bags for the first 30 kids, there will be some fantastic prizes for winners in each age group and the Casting Contest. This event is catch and release only and participants must bring their own pole and bait.
Touch-A-Truck
Warsaw Parks & Recreation Department will hold a free Touch-A-Truck event from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 2, at Central Park. Touch-A-Truck is an opportunity to not only look at, but be inside and explore various types of trucks, and equipment, from various companies and organizations. Some of these trucks include an ambulance, mixer truck, skid loader, backhoe, police SUV, vac truck and more. You can not only enjoy exploring each truck, but have a snack of popcorn and water sponsored by Warsaw Buick GMC at the Warsaw Parks Department Booth and sponsor Hacienda will be serving chips & salsa to attendees.
Mantis Skate Park Late Skate
This Saturday, June 2, the Warsaw Parks and Recreation Department will host a late skate/pizza party for skaters from 8 to 11 p.m. at Mantis Skate Park, 400 Little League Drive, Warsaw. This fun time is free and includes pizza. Grab your friends and don’t miss out on this awesome evening. All pizza has been generously provided by Dominos of Warsaw.par
