For patrons interested in writing, Writer’s Corner meets at 10 a.m. on the third Monday of each month. Each month the group is assigned to write a short composition on a specific subject and then bring it to the meeting to share. This month the group will share essays they have written about the west. Participants don’t have to be accomplished writers or published authors to be a part of the group — just someone who likes to write.
Participants will share westerns on April 16.
Parents share the joy of books and stories with their babies and toddlers during Lapsit Story Time held 11 a.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays. With parents or caregivers, little ones explore board books, sing simple songs with hand motions and play with scarves, shakers, bells and bubbles. Parents have the opportunity to network with one another and receive resources to facilitate early learning. Lapsit has five more sessions to go before ending April 27.
Save your loose change for the upcoming Friends of the Library’s semi-annual book sale April 26-28.
There will be hundreds of good quality, gently used books, movies, music CDs and puzzles on sale at low bargain prices. All proceeds go to support the work of the library.
