By MILFORD PUBLIC LIBRARY STAFF
MILFORD — Milford Public Library is hosting a variety of programs and events:
Winter Preschool Story Time
This week’s preschool story time theme is Eskimos. Join staff at 10:15 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, or 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18. Preschool story time is for ages 3-6. Staff will read “Look Inside an Igloo” by Mari Schuh, “A Flower in the Snow” by Tracey Corderoy and Sophie Allsopp, and “On Mother’s Lap” by Ann Herbert Scott. After listening to stories, the children will use a photograph of their face to make an Eskimo craft. Everyone will enjoy gummy fish and juice for snack. If you have not registered your child yet, come in or call (574) 658-4312 to get signed up.
Adult Reading Club
Adults age 18 and up can register to participate in our annual Adult Reading Program. Stop by the adult circulation desk for program information. For each book you read, or book-on-compact disk you listen to, you can put your name in for a chance to win some fabulous prizes. Each Friday, the Library will draw a name out of the bowl, and that person will win a prize. Prizes are donated by local sponsors and will be displayed prior to being given away. The Adult Reading Program ends on March 31, 2016. Winter is a wonderful time to curl up with a good book. We have new books arrive every week… come in and check us out.
Afternoon Knitting Club
Knitting Club meets from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, in the teen area of the library. Bring a knitting project and get help from experienced knitters. Learn how to knit or continue working on a current project.
Balance and Stability Program
Join us for a Balance and Stability Program presented by Tami Pavel, Certified Personal Trainer at Lakeside Fitness, as part of our Adult Reading Program. Everyone is invited to attend. Pavel will be presenting the program in our meeting room at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 29. Come ready to learn from Tami about improving your balance and coordination, proper posture and breathing, and core muscle strength and stability.
