Warsaw FFA Competes In State Horticulture Contest

WARSAW — The Warsaw FFA Chapter had seven members compete in the state Horticulture Career Development Event (CDE) contest.
The teams traveled to Purdue University in West Lafayette on Oct. 9. The Horticulture CDE teaches members various skills dealing with horticulture and the landscape industry. Members identified ornamental plants, flowers, indoor houseplants, fruits, vegetables and nuts. They also took a knowledge exam.
The team of Dakotah Easterday, Breanna Thompson, Lillian Haywood, and Gentry Hall placed ninth. The team of Cale Wise, Dylan Hurd, and Rylan Cooper placed 25th. There were a total of 55 teams who competed in this state contest. Lillian Haywood was the top judger for this event.
