Echoes of the Past Remembers Kurt Miller With Tractor Drive
News Release
WARSAW – On Saturday, September 11, the Echoes of the Past played host to 35 tractors for the Kurt Miller Memorial Tractor Drive.
Participants from as far away as Logansport trailered tractors in to be a part of the 26-mile drive to honor Miller, who died at the age of 17 in an accident in 2015.
His love of all things agriculture is the driving force behind the tractor drive. Kurt was an active member of the Beaver Dam 4-H group and the Tippecanoe Valley High School FFA. He showed calves at the Kosciusko County Fair and also entered his Farm Toy scene in general projects.
Participants cranked over their tractors at 9 a.m. and started the 26-mile route down the county roads of Kosciusko County, returning to Kurt Miller’s home on CR 600S. Lunch of hamburgers, pork burgers and hot dogs was provided after the drive was enjoyed while stories of tractor refurbishing, farming and memories of Kurt were shared.
The Echoes of the Past would like to thank the Burket Fire Department, Mentone Fire and Police Department, and the Kosciusko Sheriff Department for assisting with traffic control, Ceres Solutions and Devon Zimmerman for aiding in parking, and Igloo Ice Cream and Ada Rebman for special treats for lunch.
