NORTH WEBSTER — To help bring Christmas cheer to the North Webster community, another lighted ATV parade took place tonight, Saturday, Dec. 19. Anyone who lived within a 2-mile radius of North Webster surely saw the parade of holiday-themed ATVs. The parade went south on Main Street through downtown North Webster and then north, past the North Webster Community Center.
Organized by Lisa Strombeck, town council member, and Jennifer Crosley of Jill and Jennifer’s Salon, approximately 36 ATVs took part in the lighted parade, which had a festive theme. Most ATVs donned festive, multicolored lights, small Christmas trees, candy canes and some other holiday decor.
The parade was more than just a trip though downtown North Webster: proceeds benefitted the North Webster Food Pantry. People also donated bags full of non-perishable food; cash donations were also accepted.
The last holiday parade had 20 ATVs, while this Saturday’s featured 36. Santa Claus himself made an appearance, taking a break from his busy December schedule.
“We would like to thank the community and the local businesses for all the donations,” said Strombeck, adding, “We like to do anything we can do for our community to show we care.”
One participant in the parade, Michelle Doerr, who brought in two bags of food, said, “You help when you can while you can.”
Anyone wishing to help can send a donation to: North Webster Food Pantry, P.O. Box 392, North Webster, IN 46555. Food donations can be dropped off the North Webster Community Center or Jill and Jennifer’s Salon, 225 N. Main St., Suite D, North Webster.
