Milford Public Library Adult Reading Program Starts In January
News Report
MILFORD — The following information has been released from the Milford Public Library.
Adult Reading Program
Winter is right around the corner, so there’s no better time to snuggle up with a good book! The Library’s Adult Reading Program is almost here. Beginning Saturday, January 2, the Adult Reading Program will be under way. The theme is “Tails and Tales”. For each book, E-book, magazine, or audiobook you read (or listen to), enter your name in a weekly drawing for a chance to win a prize. The Library will draw a winner each week through March 31st. Be sure to watch our Facebook page and website for additional ways to win prizes. We ask those who participate be 18 years or older. No library card is needed to be eligible to win prizes, but we do ask that you sign up in the Adult Department of the Library.
Wowbrary
Milford Public Library has extended our Wowbrary subscription. Last winter the library signed up for Wowbrary. This allows us to send out a weekly email to patrons. This email is full of useful information. We update you on new items that have been added to our collection each week, as well as, any programs, fun activities, Library closings, or other information we think our patrons would like to know about. It is easy to sign up for Wowbrary. Simply visit www.wowbrary.org, click sign up, enter your zip code, click go, then choose Milford Public Library, enter your email address twice, and click submit. A staff member will be happy to help if needed.
Updated Website
In July the Library updated our website. Have you visited www.milford.lib.in.us? Our website is now more user friendly. You have the ability to register for events happening online or at the library by visiting the Events tab on the website. You are able to place holds on items from the Catalog tab, and by clicking on the Services tab, you will be able to see how much it costs to make copies, send a fax, etc., along with many other services. Be sure to check our website out.
Holiday Closings
Milford Public Library will be closed Thursday, December 24 and Friday, December 25 for Christmas. The library will reopen at 10:00 am on Saturday, December 26. We will also be closed on Thursday, December 31 and Friday, January 1 for New Year’s Day. The library will reopen Saturday, January 2 at 10:00 am. Please return books or DVDs in the outside drop boxes on the south side of the library building. Happy Holidays to the Milford Community!
Christmas Crafts and Activities
Milford Public Library has prepared Christmas packets for children to enjoy each week during Christmas break. Packet number one will be available beginning Monday, December 21 and packet number two will be available Monday, December 28. The packets can be picked up in the Children’s Department. Each packet will have four different crafts, several activities to do as a family, a container of juice, and a sweet treat. The library will be opened for regular hours on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday of both weeks, and the packets are available anytime we are open.
Virtual Pianist Concert
Whether you grew up in the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s or 2000’s, pianist Dan Fogel will take you on a musical ride through the decades in this concert with virtual backgrounds. This concert is free, and will be available for one week beginning Monday, January 18 through Saturday, January 23. We ask you to sign up in the Adult Department, phone 658-4312, or email [email protected]. A YouTube link will be emailed to those who register. You and your family can watch the concert as many times as you would like throughout the week.
