Garbage Collection Services Making Changes Due To Pandemic
WARSAW — Several garbage collection services in the area are making modifications to their procedures in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Information about trash pickup services is listed below. Businesses not listed either could not be reached for comment, have not yet implemented changes or did not wish to be included on the list.
Stafford’s Solid Waste

All routes will be running on a normal schedule until further notice. As always, please have your trash out by 6 a.m. on your pick up day.
Stafford’s employees will be taking extra precautions due to the outbreak to ensure the safety of their employees.
All trash MUST be bagged inside your can, and if there are any bags outside your can, it also must be bagged in plastic and tied. No exceptions.
Stafford’s helpers and drivers will not be cleaning up piles. Any questionable trash or bags are at the discretion of the driver and may be left behind.

Waste Management is taking precautionary steps in response to the latest information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) and other relevant agencies to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
Their residential contact centers are temporarily closed as they coordinate remote operations for their employees. Business contact centers remain operational.
They are currently maintaining their standard collection service.

All trash should be bagged and placed in an Advanced Disposal cart as they will no longer be servicing any items outside of the containers during this time.
Also, in order to best protect and limit the exposure to their employees, the bulk item and spring cleanup programs will be suspended until further notice.

Valley Sanitation has suspended regular trash pickup in Mentone until further notice.
On Friday, March 20, three rollaway dumpsters were installed by the town of Mentone and Valley Sanitation in the parking lot next to Subway at the corner of West Main Street/SR 25 and North Tucker Street.
The dumpsters are intended only for Mentone residents. All trash must be bagged.

All routes will be running on normal schedule. Please leave your trash out the night before your service day because route times fluctuate. The office will be closed to the public.
Payments may be made by phone or through the drop box located by their front door. You may also make payments online.
The company will not be accepting electronics or fluorescent bulbs at this time at the Albion site.
Extra precautions will be taken due to the COVID-19 outbreak to help protect the health of their employees. The restrictions are as follows:
*All trash must be bagged inside your tote. No exceptions.
*You must make sure all extra bags are tied securely and placed next to your tote.
*We will NOT clean up piles of trash. If you have more than a couple of bags, please call the office and make arrangements before your pick up day. Any questionable trash or too many bags may be left behind by your driver or rider.
*We will not do any extra hauls on bigger items at this time.
