Warsaw Schools Seeking Input On School Start, End Time
WARSAW — Warsaw Community Schools is requesting input on school start and end time for the 2020-21 school year.
The survey can be found in the news section at warsawschools.org or at http://bit.ly/wcsstarttime.
Numerous medical research studies have shown a positive impact on student health and wellness through later school start times. Over the last two years, WCS has been studying and discussing the modification of their school start times.
Understanding there are unique logistics outside of the state-mandated number of days and instructional minutes required, WCS engaged the services of School Bus Consultants, a transportation consultant group, to review transportation department logistics along with the research data. Through their assistance, WCS identified three potential options that ensure the best interest of all K-12 grade students. Warsaw Community Schools graciously request the community’s input in the evaluation process of these options.
The survey provides background information on medical research, the transportation logistics study and a survey for the requested input. WCS would like to publicly thank the many community members, parents, students, transportation personnel and teachers for the research and study leading into this input survey.
Additional questions not answered in the background information of the survey can be addressed to the WCS central office at (574) 371-5098.
