N. Webster Story Time To Feature Thanksgiving Activities
NORTH WEBSTER — Little pilgrims and Native Americans will gather for the annual Preschool Story Time Thanksgiving Feast at North Webster Community Public Library on Wednesday, Nov. 21. The event will begin at 11:30 a.m.
Children who have participated in past and present Preschool Story Time sessions are invited to sign up and to bring a finger food to share for a pint-sized, Thanksgiving feast. Since school will not be in session that day, older siblings, as well as former Story Time participants, are welcome to attend. Advance registration is needed. To sign a child up, stop by the Youth Services Desk or call (574) 834-7122.
Thanksgiving is turkey time, and participants in Writer’s Corner will be writing essays about the turkey and sharing their compositions at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 19. Participants who have a memorable turkey story should write it down and bring it to Writer’s Corner. Participants don’t have to be an accomplished writer to participate in Writer’s Corner, which meets the third Monday each month.
Registrations are being accepted for a second Coffee and Canvas class, to begin at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15. Karla Hayden will give step-by-step instructions for painting a holiday snowman. A canvas and all painting supplies will be provided for a cost of $18. Advance registration with payment is required. The Dec. 8 class is already filled, so don’t delay in signing up and paying at the circulation desk.
For patrons who have children visiting for the Thanksgiving holiday, check out a Book Buddy Kit in the Youth Department to keep the little ones entertained. With 24 educational play kits to choose from, each themed kit contains quality toys, activities and books. The kits can be checked out for one week using the Evergreen library card.
The library will close early at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 21 and remain closed all day on Thanksgiving, Nov. 22 and Friday, Nov. 23. The library will re-open at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24.
