The car show was in conjunction with Warsaw’s First Friday event. Over 150 vehicles were present at 6 p.m. with more still rolling in.
The Best of Show award was presented to Greg Miller and his 1964 Pontiac GTO. Bruce Cronin won the Baker Youth Club Pick with his 1929 Ford Model A Pick Up. The Best Motorcycle Award was given to David Davis.
BYC has been serving the youth in Kosciusko County for 92 years. It is the mission of BYC to shape an educated, healthy, physical and social identity based on Christian values. It works to achieve this mission by providing quality supervision, academic support by certified teachers, teacher aids and structured daily activities.
“Money just helps us with staffing, equipment, everything we need to operate the after-school program,” said BYC Executive Director Tracy Furnivall. “There are just so many needs that we have so this money is huge to be able to help offset those costs.”
Furnivall noted that this is the organization’s second biggest fundraiser of the year. Each year the car show raises around $10,000 in funding.
BYC is currently providing services to over 300 youth per night in Warsaw, Syracuse, Milford, North Webster and Wawasee Middle School with close to 750 members.
