SYRACUSE — Wawasee Community School Corp. offers instrumental music instruction beginning in the sixth grade at Wawasee Middle School and Milford Middle School. Instructors are Hope Bechtel, WMS band; Sara Skow, Milford band; and Joyce Dubach, orchestra at both middle schools.

Music directors will be taking members of the middle school bands and orchestras on tour Thursday, March 17, to the school corporation’s elementary schools to demonstrate instruments to this year’s fifth-grade students. Sixth-graders can begin instrumental music study in either orchestra or band.

There will be an informational meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, March 21, in the Wawasee High School cafeteria for parents to learn about the school beginning music program and to receive information from music dealers about renting instruments for the students. Arrangements can be made that evening to reserve instruments for the sixth grade year, or appointments will be available at WMS Tuesday, March 22, or at MMS Wednesday, March 23.

If parents are unable to attend the informational meeting, they may contact the music teachers through each of the two middle schools.
