Warsaw Parks Count Down To Christmas
WARSAW — Members of the Warsaw community gathered at Center Lake Pavilion, Warsaw, Friday evening, Dec. 11, to welcome the holiday season and count down to Christmas.
Kids and families filled up on cookies and hot chocolate, wrote letters to Santa, made Christmas cards and tried their hand at reindeer ring toss. Kids also had a chance to visit with Santa and present their Christmas wishes.
According to Warsaw Parks Department Recreation Supervisor Mercedes Pratt, this is at least the 10th year the department has held Countdown to Christmas.
This year, a new activity was added. Those in attendance could make Christmas cards to send to troops deployed overseas. Pratt noted that, while the parks department will try to get the cards into the hands of Indiana soldiers, that is not necessarily a guarantee.
“But we’re going to try it,” she said.
