Harold J. VanCleve
Harold J. VanCleve, 84, passed away at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday, July 15, 2015, in his Warsaw home.
He was born Aug. 21, 1930, in North Liberty, Pa., to Hiram and Lois (McCandless) VanCleve. He was a 1948 graduate of Wilkensburg High School, in Wilkensburg, Pa. He entered the United States Army, served as a MP during the Korean War. PFC Harold J. VanCleve was honorably discharged on May 18, 1961. He moved from Pa. in 1949 to Warsaw and has lived in Warsaw since. He was an adjuster with Auto Owners Insurance Company for 38 years, retiring in 1995.
Harold attended Dutchtown Brethren Church, and was a member of the Warsaw American Legion Post #49.
He is survived by two sisters: Ruth Griswold, Warsaw; Lois Strum, Fredericksburg, Va.; one brother: Don VanCleve, Longwood, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by mother: Lois VanCleve, on Aug. 21, 1991, father: Hiram VanCleve, Jan. 6, 1973; and sister: Dorothy VanCleve, on March 1, 2010.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. until noon Monday, July 20, at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. The service will be at noon after the service, and will be officiated by Pastor Jack Worth, of Dutchtown Brethren Church. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
