Kosciusko Leadership Academy met at the new Bowen Center Corporate Office in Warsaw to learn about personality and leadership style, using the Myers Briggs Type Indicator. This session was presented by Allyn Decker, KLA moderator.
Through examples and pretesting, the Cadets learned which of the type descriptors most closely resembled their preferences for making decisions and interacting. The Myers Briggs Type Indicator is an important tool for those in leadership positions.
Understanding different approaches to decision making can be a beneficial tool in the workplace.
There is no right or wrong approach to decision making. The value of the type indicator session
is in the awareness of the different approaches to problem solving and thought process, which is
an important leadership skill.
The next KLA session will feature city, county and state government on Oct. 7, hosted by the City of Warsaw Police Department, at 2191 E. Fort Wayne St., Warsaw. Featured speakers will be Joe Thallemer, major of Warsaw; Brad Tandy, Kosciusko County Councilman; and Rebecca Kubacki, Indiana State Representative District 22.
