Kiwanis Honors Senior Scholars
Kiwanis Club of Warsaw recognized and congratulated the Warsaw Community High School Senior Scholar Athletes and their respective coaches during a recent luncheon meeting.
Following the luncheon, the coaches for each team sport were introduced by Warsaw Community Schools Athletic Director Dave Anson. The coaches introduced the senior scholar athletes from their respective teams and shared team and individual player results.
Scholar athletes introduced themselves and shared their future plans. Each student was awarded a certificate of accomplishment and congratulated by Kiwanis President Doug Ault and Project Chairman Jeremy Walters. All athletes recognized held GPAs of 9.0 and above, while participating in one or more sports.
A total of 96 senior students, 17 coaches and one athletic director were recognized. Below are the 2013/2014 senior Scholar Athletes by team sport:
Boys Cross Country – Coach Jim Mills, Ellis Coon, Ryan Goon, Aaron Haller, Tyler Houvener, Eric Jagger and Curtis Rider.
Boys Soccer – Coach Scott Bauer, Alexis Climaco, Luis Duenas, Christopher Hastings, Stephen Kolbe, Juan Sanchez, Bryce Smith, and Mathhew Williams.
Cheerleading – Coach Kari Doty, Hannah Hinkle, Mikhayla Kabala, Makayla Leamon, Lindsay Lybarger and Kaley Simpson.
Football – Coach Phil Jensen, Brett Anson, Tanner Balazs, Dylan Campbell, Seth Fouts, Chad Goon, Caleb Heckaman, Anthony Hendrickson, Tristan McClone, Peter Shepherd, Ian Slone, Zach Stichter, Jason Taylor, Stuart Wagner, Alfred Walker, Joshua Wogoman and Ryder Worrell.

Girls Golf – Coach Chris LaLonde, Nichole LaLonde and Elizabeth Meadows.
Volleyball – Coach Mike Howard, Emma Bonifield, Laura Craig, Delaney Goble, Taylor Jagger, Emily Poe, Chandler Stevens, Ashlyn Vitoux and Marie West.

Boys Track – Coach Matt Thacker, Ismael Calderon, Jake Fayed, Michael Meadows Shell and Storm Stapleton.

Kiwanis Club of Warsaw meets weekly at 11:45 a.m. at the Kosciusko Fairgrounds Shrine Building. This membership organization welcomes guests and new members. Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world, one child and one community at a time
