Milford Town Council’s monthly public meeting on June 13 opened with a public hearing on the Small Cities Community Development Block Grant the town was awarded May 19 by the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs.

After years of complaints and legal wrangling, two Milford properties owned by Ronald Davidhizar were ordered to be demolished, according to a letter sent to Davidhizar and made available at the March 8 meeting of Milford Town Council.

UPDATE: Indiana Conservation Officers recovered the body of Dustin Reaker, 29, Bremen, from the Leesburg Quarry Sunday around 7 p.m. The investigation revealed that Dustin Reaker and Allen Stattler, 41, Dowagiac, Mich., possibly went ice fishing Friday night and never returned. Syracuse Town Council approved a bid for $140,627.30 from Phend and Brown for street paving during its regular monthly meeting Tuesday night, Aug. 18. Phend and Brown also won a paving contract with the Turkey Creek Fire Territory for $66,778.20. Both contracts were bid together and each agency will be invoiced separately.
