An octet of intrepid artisans braved a clear but bone-chilling midday to ply their ice carving skills during the 2022 Uptown Syracuse Winter Wonderland of Ice festival Saturday, Feb. 12, an annual event organized and sponsored by the Syracuse-Wawasee Chamber of Commerce.

MILFORD — For January, a longtime friend of the organization offered to fund and supply the fish from Peterson’s Fish in Syracuse. North Webster resident Janet Krull paid for and delivered the fresh fish from the local favorite, and stayed for lunch to enjoy chatting with the residents.
It started with a phone call and led to a mutually beneficial deal that allows Kevin and Allison Robie, owners of Grill-N-Grate, to retire while giving Peterson’s Fish, owned by Roger and Susan Peterson, a permanent place to call home.
