Indiana Department Of Correction To Pay $12M Jail Back-Payments

The Indiana Department of Correction owes Indiana jails about $12.7 million in payments for housing state offenders — the highest bill being Elkhart County’s — but there is a plan in place to pay it back starting Tuesday, July 1 and avoid the problem in the future.
