Warsaw Man Arrested For Allegedly Battering Child
Staff Report
WARSAW — A Warsaw man was arrested after allegedly battering a child.
Kevin Yousef Dwayne Hudson, 28, 404 N. Parker St. Apartment 6, Warsaw, is charged with domestic battery resulting in bodily injury to a person under the age of 14, a level 5 felony.
On March 24, a Warsaw Police officer responded to a report of possible child abuse. A woman said she was giving a child a bath when she noticed bruises on the child.
According to court documents, the woman said she contacted Hudson to ask about the bruising, as both the bruised child and a second child recently stayed with Hudson. During the conversation, Hudson admitted to spanking the child with a belt.
Officers examined and documented significant and deep bruising on the child’s buttocks, thighs, and back of their legs.
Several officers then went to Hudson’s location to do a welfare check on a third child and to speak with Hudson.
Hudson admitted to spanking both the bruised child and the third child with a belt. He said he spanked both children twice on the buttocks with an open hand, once on their hands, and once with a belt on their buttocks. Hudson told officers the children did not show any emotion after being spanked, so Hudson made the children stand in the corner for about an hour.
Officers inspected the third child and did not notice any visible marks on them.
Hudson has already been arrested and released on bond.
