Ten In Congregation Who Tested Positive Are Avoiding Church
Staff Report
WARSAW — New Life Christian Church and World Outreach has 10 cases of COVID-19 within its congregation, but no one with the virus has attended in-person services.
A Facebook post which has since been taken down, initially reported that the church had an outbreak of people testing positive for COVID-19 but was still holding services without taking any precautions. However, church pastors said those who had tested positive had not been in the church physically.
Church staff and parishioners are doing home meal delivery and prayer chains for those in the congregation who have COVID-19.
According to Bryan Lowe, associate pastor at New Life Christian Church, the church has extended its COVID-19 protocol to Sept. 20. The church is at about 25 percent of its normal capacity due to the pandemic and is also live streaming all of its services.
