Roderick M. Fry
Roderick M. “Rod” Fry, 82, Plymouth, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 8, 2018, in the Catherine Kasper Life Care Center in Donaldson with his loving family by his side.
Mr. Fry was born Feb. 7, 1936, in Chicago, Ill. to Raymond and Gwendolyn (Mayoh) Fry. He came to the Plymouth area in 1995 from Phoenix, Ariz. He married the former Sandra Livinghouse on Feb. 14, 1992, in Phoenix, Ariz. After high school, Rod proudly served his country in both the United States Navy and United States Air Force. Retiring from the Air Force as a Tech Sergeant after 20 years of service in 1974. He performed various duties in the service and was particularly proud of his years as a Fire Fighter. He held Top-Secret Clearances and was a perpetual learner. He attended the university of Maryland. He loved talking with people, antiquing, and going to auctions. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. He attended the Crossroads Church in Plymouth where he faithfully studied the Word of God.
Those left to cherish Rod Fry’s memory are his loving wife of 26 years, Sandra Fry, Plymouth; his three daughters: Julie (Matt) Davis, Betsey (Patrick) Foreman, Dawn (Jesse) Lorenzo; his three sons: Tony (Arlene) Fry, Sean (Sarah) Parsons and Nathan Fry; he was further blessed with 15 grandchildren and one great grandson; also surviving is his sister. He is preceded in passing by his parents, and two sisters, Blanche and Mary.
The Van Gilder Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements for the Fry family. A funeral service will be held at noon Wednesday, April 11, in the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street Plymouth, IN 46563 with Pastor Matt Lawrence officiating. Burial will be in the New Oak Hill Cemetery with full military honors provide by the American Legion Post #27, VFW Post #1162 and the DAV.
A time of visiting with the Fry family will be held at 10 a.m.-noon, Wednesday, April 11, at the Van Gilder Funeral Home.
