NIPSCO Donates 60 Trees To Four Community Sites, Including KCH
KOSCIUSKO — This month, Northern Indiana Public Service Company will provide over 60 trees to several area community projects. These trees will provide energy conservation benefits, aid communities in increasing their total urban canopy coverage goals, provide numerous environmental and economic benefits and demonstrate “Right Tree, Right Place” planting practices.
Planting sites include:
- Humane Indiana Animal Shelter – Munster
- Lake County Soil and Water Conservation District Office – Crown Point
- Kosciusko Community Hospital – Warsaw
- Schererville Parks and Recreation Department – Schererville
“This is a great time to plant trees,” said John Stout, manager of vegetation management for NIPSCO. “Cool temperatures and rain mean roots have time to establish in warm soil before the ground freezes. We’re glad to have a chance to provide these four organizations with trees that will improve their landscapes for many years.”
