David Wayne Boggs
David “D-Boy” Wayne Boggs, 18, died Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017, surrounded by his family at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne as a result of an automobile accident which took place on Aug. 24, 2017. He was born on May 20, 1999 in Fort Wayne.
David was a senior at West Noble “Turning Point” High School. He worked with his friends at Pizza Hut and was excited to serve his country post-graduation by enlisting in the United States Marine Corp. David truly enjoyed serving others in many capacities in whatever was needed. He loved God and was an active member at Stone’s Hill Community Church. Tinkering with music, playing video games, the Green Bay Packers football team, shooting guns, fishing, bonfires, and collecting pocket knives is how he spent his free time. His favorite thing to do was spending time with his family and friends by creating memories playing any type of sport or vacations with them.
He is survived by his loving parents, Matthew and Amy (Walker) Boggs, of Wawaka; brother, Mitchell Boggs of Fort Wayne; sister, Rebekah Boggs and her significant other, Austin Geiger of Ligonier; sister, Gabrielle Boggs, of Wawaka; great grandparents, Virginia and Larry Jackson of Fort Wayne; Father, Eugene (Abby) Rhoades, of Columbia City; along with several aunts, uncles, cousins and two nephews.
David is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ron Walker and Vickie Kilgore and his paternal grandparents, Mickey Boggs and Carolyn Green.
Family and friends will be received from noon-5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 16 at Stones Hill Community Church – 151 West Stones Hill Road Ligonier, IN 46767. A funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 16 at the Church. Pastor’s Tom Leitch and Joey Nelson will officiate.
A private committal service will take place with the family at the Legacy Cremation and Remembrance Center.
