Marcella Travelbee
Marcella Travelbee, Columbia City, died Wednesday evening, Dec. 14, 2016 at her home.
She was born March 28, 1923 in South Bend, a daughter of Glen Aaron and Mary Helen (Shaffer) Arnold. Her formative years were spent in Kosciusko County and South Whitley. She graduated from South Whitley High School and Warners Beauty College.
On April 1, 1944 she was united in marriage to Robert F. “Rod” Travelbee. They always made their home in Columbia City, moving to their home present home in 1964. Mr. Travelbee died April 28, 1997.
A homemaker, she was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.
Surviving relatives include a son, Stuart (Roxane) Travelbee, Columbia City; and a half sister, Karen McCoy, Albion.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Gwendolyn Braden; and a brother, Meredith B. Arnold.
The funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21 at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City with visitation 3 to 4 p.m. The burial will be in South Whitley Cemetery.
