Charles Jim Meier
Charles Jim Meier, 80, Churubusco, passed away at 5:24 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, 2016 at his home in Churubusco.
Mr. Meier was born July 13, 1936 in Richmond, a son of William A. and Stella (Horner) Meier. He spent his formative years in Richmond and graduated from Richmond High School in 1954.
On June 19, 1960 he was married in Richmond to Shirley J. Lloyd, and moved from Richmond to Yoder where he had lived for 31 years. They have lived in Churubusco the last 10 years.
He was employed at General Electric, and retired after 41 years.
Mr. Meier was a member of the Thursday Morning Senior League at Pro Bowl West.
The surviving relatives include wife, Shirley J. Meier, Churubusco; four sons: Edward J. Meier, Eugene, Ore.; Anthony J. (Doreen) Meier, Eric J. Meier, and Matthew J. (Lauri) Meier, all of Fort Wayne; four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William A.and Stella (Horner) Meier; two brothers: William and Carl Robert Meier; and a sister, Marilyn Kinnear.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 23 at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, with Pastor Rick Van Horn, officiating.
The family will receive friends at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, or one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be in the Eel River Cemetery, Allen County.
