BPA Issues World Series Awards
WARSAW – The Baseball Players Association issued its award winners and championship photos from last week’s BPA World Series stop at the CCAC in Warsaw.
The 10U Harris Storm Black won the title, defeating Bulldog Baseball 7-0 in the championship game after the Bulldogs beat Harris 7-2 in the first title game of the double-elimination tournament format. Harris went 5-1 in the tourney and garnered Dawson French, Brady O’Connell, Chris Pelletier and Hunter Morrett on the All-Tourney Team. The entire team was selected as MVP in a nod of sportsmanship.
Bulldogs had Brayden Smith, Ayden Schuhler, Landen Fry and Brady Richman on the All-Tourney Team, Smith named Defensive MVP of the tournament.
Third-place finishers Prime Time had Gavin Grueter and Gibson Cary on the All-Tourney Team, and fourth-place South Coast Blues had Kanyon Binns also on the team.
The 11U Michiana Scrappers rolled to a 13-1 title win over Bulldog Baseball in a rematch of the third-round matchup the Scrappers won by just a 5-4 count. The Scrappers went 6-0 in the tournament and boasted of Tournament MVP Gavin Collins, who was also the Home Run Derby champ for his age group. Joining Collins on the All-Tourney Team were Brycen Hannah, Carter Richardson, Hudson Gast and Flynn Leonard.
Bulldogs had Dalton Wasson named Defensive MVP and Nick Pandoff, Andrew James and Bohde Dickerson all named All-Tourney.
Third-place team Shamrocks had Hogan McCleary and Brayton Mears on the All-Tourney Team, and fourth-place Summit City Vipers had Cam Quinlin also on the team.
The 13U Indiana Landsharks Blue had to work extra hard to claim its title, going 9-1 in the tournament and needing to rally from the loser’s bracket after a loss earlier in the week. Needing to beat the Mizuno Northern Indiana Elite twice to win, the Landsharks did that with a 6-0 title clincher in its fourth game of the day Saturday.
The Landsharks had Brayden Burgess named Tournament MVP and was joined on the All-Tourney Team by Jason Migas, Nate Kronwitter, Caleb Hlade and Josh Allen.
Mizuno had Kameron Salazar tabbed as Defensive MVP and joined by Brenden Lytle, Blake Davison and Logan Barley on the All-Tourney Team.
Third-place team ATH Orange had Ty Wressel and Trae Knight on the All-Tourney Team.
