James R. ‘Jim’ Dodson
James R. “Jim” Dodson, 65 of Plymouth, passed away Monday, Nov. 23, 2015, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth.
Jim was born April 22, 1950, at Plymouth, to Edwin H. and Norma J. (Brown) Dodson. He was a resident of Plymouth except for nine years he spent in Florida. He was self-employed as a computer sales and repairman and was a member of the Faith Baptist Church. Jim honorably served his country in the United States Army.
Jim married the former Linda Johnston on June 5, 1970, she survives along with four daughters: Kelley (Dennis) Babb, Kankakee Valley; Kristine (Mark) Phillips, Bradenton, Fla.; Kandis (Paul) Kemp, North Port, Fla.;; Kailin Dodson, Lafayette; four grandchildren: Christopher and McKayla Babb; and Josh and Alissa Kemp; two sisters: Sue (Kirk) Mcllraith, Eaton Prairie, Minn.; Virginia (Larry) Cole, Carver, Minn.; and two brothers: Richard Dodson, Indianapolis; and Brian (Polly) Dodson of West Bloomfield, Mich.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother: Larry Allen Dodson.
The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 28, at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 W. Madison Street, Plymouth. A Memorial service will follow at noon in the funeral home with Pastor Paul Whitworth of Faith Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at a later date in New Oak Hill Cemetery.
