UPDATE: Car, Motorcycle, Deer Accident
Mentone Fire and EMS and the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department responded to a reported motorcycle accident involving a deer at 2571 S. SR 19.
According to Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, at 12:12 p.m. Sunday Gerald L. Troyer, 60, of Nappanee, was traveling on SR 19 when he struck deer. The impact caused Troyer to lose control of the motorcycle, which fell onto its side and slid off the road. Troyer was flown to Parkview Hospital by Samaritan air ambulance. Damages: up to $25,000
StaceyPageOnline has learned the accident was a head-on collision between a motorcycle and car. Responding emergency officials said the motorcycle struck a pregnant deer, which also caused the motorcycle to collide with an oncoming car.
