On Jan. 23, officers with the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department responded to a local hotel for an apparent domestic disturbance. Upon arriving, the victim was behaving erratically. A woman noticed the victim’s face and told officers that she saw a man, identified as Humble, walk into the room. Humble was no longer in the room and had taken the victim’s vehicle.
Officers noted that the victim’s left eye socket and cheek were bruised, along with contusion marks along her neck. Officers also noted that there was bruising on her forehead and through her hairline that appeared to be older. The victim stated that Humble made the marks and also said there was an active warrant for his arrest.
The victim also told officers that she had been stabbed by Humble, showing them the red cut on her leg. When officers went to the room, they saw it in a state of disarray.
Upon finding Humble, he admitted that he had prior convictions for strangulation and domestic battery from 2025.
