Ohio Man Facing Charges After High-Speed Pursuit In Plymouth

PLYMOUTH – An Ohio man is facing criminal charges after a high-speed vehicle pursuit in Plymouth on Monday night.
Just before 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2, a Marshall County Sheriff’s Office deputy tried to stop a speeding vehicle. The vehicle reached speeds of 130 mph and violated many traffic laws, including driving the wrong way on US 30.
According to a press release from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, stop sticks were deployed at Lincoln Highway and Pioneer Drive in Plymouth. A Plymouth Police officer was injured while deploying the stop sticks.
The speeding driver, identified as Kepree D. Allen, 33, Columbus, Ohio, swerved toward the officer, but did not hit him with his vehicle. Allen continued on SR 17, wrecking his vehicle at SR 17 and Sycamore Road. Allen ran on foot and was apprehended a short time later.
Allen’s pending charges include aggravated battery, resisting law enforcement, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, reckless driving, and possession of marijuana.
Indiana State Police and Plymouth EMS also assisted at the scene.
