SILVER LAKE – An Akron man was flown from a single-vehicle accident west of Silver Lake on Friday afternoon.

At 1:34 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16, emergency personnel responded to a vehicle accident on SR 14, west of South CR 500W, Silver Lake.

According to a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office accident report, Paul Teel, 93, Akron, was traveling west on SR 14 when his vehicle hit snow and slush in the roadway. This caused Teel to lose control of his vehicle, leaving the roadway and hitting a utility pole.

Teel sustained head injuries and was flown from the scene to a Fort Wayne hospital for further evaluation.

Damages are estimated up to $10,000.
