Officers with the North Webster Police Department investigated the following accident:
- 1:46 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, SR 13, North Webster. Drivers: Amber Hollingsworth, East Magnolia Lane, Cromwell; and Cecilio Ramirez Gonzalez, Tamms Lane, Bolingbrook, Ill. Hollingsworth’s vehicle rear-ended Gonzalez’s vehicle as it was stopped to turn left. Damage up to $10,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:

11:02 a.m. Monday, Jan. 12, Columbia Street, at West Center Street. Drivers: Cory L. Benz, 38, Chapman Lake Drive, Warsaw; and Kane Buell, 25, West Winona Avenue, Warsaw. Benz was distracted after his dog threw up, and his vehicle rear-ended Buell’s vehicle. Damages up to $5,000.

5:02 a.m. Monday, Jan. 12, North Detroit Street, at Gilliam Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Cynthia K. Spitler, 76, Broadway Street, Mentone; and Nicole Ortiz, 21, Winchester Trail, Goshen. Spitler was trying to turn her vehicle left on Detroit Street, and collided with Ortiz’s vehicle that was traveling northbound on Detroit Street. Damages up to $50,000.

10:45 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11, East Market Street, at South Detroit Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Gael Valencia, 17, East Deerwood Court, Warsaw; and Laurie Head, 56, South Wood Street, Warsaw. Valencia was distracted, and his vehicle rear-ended Head’s vehicle. Head complained of neck and upper body pain and was transported to Parkview Hospital. Damages up to $10,000.

3:54 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11, East Center Street, at North Bronson Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Kylee R. Bryant, 31, South CR 200W, Silver Lake; and Rebecca S. Bradley, 46, West Baker Street, Warsaw. Bryant turned around to give her daughter a piece of chocolate and entered the intersection of North Bronson Street. Bradley was in the intersection when the front of her vehicle crashed into the passenger’s side of Bryant’s vehicle, and the impact caused Bryant’s vehicle to crash into a light pole and fire hydrant before resting on East Center Street. Brenden Shepherd, 5, Silver Lake, and Kinsley Beck, 11, Silver Lake, were passengers in Bryant’s vehicle. Shepherd had hit his head on the window as a result of the collision, causing him to have bleeding to his head. Shepherd was taken by Lutheran EMS to a local hospital for further treatment. Beck had a small bump to her head, but was checked on the scene by EMS. Bradley complained of chest pain, was assessed by EMS on scene, and refused further treatment. Damages up to $50,000.

6:46 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, 50 block East Bell Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Scott W. Kruger, 22, Poplar Street, Winona Lake. Kruger’s vehicle was pulling out from a parking space, when his vehicle collided with a light pole. Damages up to $5,000.

9:21 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9, US 30, at East Old Road 30, Warsaw. Drivers: Justin Albert Castro Olvera, 23, North East Street, Milford; and Allyson R. Smith, 24, North CR 800E, North Webster. Castro Olvera was distracted while changing lanes and his vehicle rear-ended Smith’s vehicle. Smith was pregnant, and complained of lower pack pain and was transported to Parkview Warsaw Hospital. Damages up to $25,000.

12:33 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9, 800 block East Winona Avenue, Warsaw. Drivers: Sarah D. Schmidt, 58, South Southwood Drive, Warsaw; and Jung U. Park, 43, Durbin Street, Warsaw. Schmidt’s vehicle was backing out of a parking spot and failed to realize Park’s vehicle was directly behind her. Damages up to $5,000.

7:25 a.m. Friday, Jan. 9, Lincoln Drive, at North Lincoln Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Kimberly A. Ziegler, 51, North Johnson Street, Warsaw; and Deleo J. Castro, 18, North Johnson Street, Warsaw. Ziegler’s vehicle was turning onto Lincoln Drive, and cut the turn too sharp. Ziegler’s vehicle struck Castro’s vehicle as she was turning. Damages up to $10,000.

5:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, 300 block East CR 200N, Warsaw. Driver: Joseph F. Courtois, 61, South High Street, Warsaw. Courtois was driving a bus, when the bus struck a gate latch, causing a scratch. Damages up to $5,000.

4:14 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, SR 15, at Rozella Road, Warsaw. Drivers: Andres D. Davila, 18, South Buffalo Street, Warsaw; and Kailea N. Peachey, 39, South Maple Run, Warsaw. Davila attempted to stop his vehicle, but his foot became stuck between the gas and brakes. Davila’s vehicle rear-ended Peachey’s vehicle. Damages up to $5,000.
