WARSAW – With his probationary year complete, Huntley Z. Davis took his oath of office as a Warsaw Police Department officer Friday, Jan. 9, at the Board of Public Works and Safety meeting.
Before giving Davis the oath, Warsaw Mayor Jeff Grose had everyone in emergency services stand.
He said, “Let me take the opportunity to thank you for your service to this community. Like I said countless times, the lecture from my dad, ‘Jeff, as mayor, you need to respect and show that to emergency services. Remember, when we are running away from trouble, they’re running to it.’ And we have another individual in our community that’s willing to step forward and take on that responsibility. I greatly appreciate that, and all of your support for another member of the team.”
WPD Chief of Police Scott Whitaker said Davis finished his first year and was officially off probation.
A first-class patrol officer, Davis has three years of previous law enforcement experience so he’s a four-year veteran, Whitaker stated.
