WARSAW – A new year often brings new goals, whether that means tightening a budget, spending more time with family or simply finding more room in the day to read. No matter your resolution, Warsaw Community Public Library offers tools, programs and everyday resources that can help you stick with your goal all year long.
For anyone hoping to save money in 2026, your library card may be one of the most powerful cards in your wallet. With the library, you have free access to thousands of books, movies, TV shows, video games, board games and more. Your card also unlocks a wide range of online tools, including Consumer Reports for product research, Mango Languages for learning a new language, Ancestry Library Edition for genealogy research, Value Line for trusted stock information and Auto Repair Source for step-by-step vehicle repair guides.
If cutting back on streaming services is part of your 2026 plan, the library can help there, too. Apps like Kanopy and Hoopla let you stream movies, documentaries and television shows. Freegal adds music streaming to the mix, giving you access to thousands of albums and artists without another monthly bill.
If your resolution is to be more creative, the library is here to help you discover something new. Adult Make and Mingle programs take place monthly and focus on different crafts and projects, making them a low-pressure way to get a little creative. Programs such as Tea and Canvas or Beginning Knitting give you a chance to explore a creative hobby without investing in expensive supplies before you know whether it is a good fit.
Maybe this is the year you want to prioritize movement. The library’s Chair Yoga sessions offer a gentle way to stretch, build strength and focus on wellness, particularly for those seeking an accessible and welcoming experience.
Parents looking for new ways for the whole family to spend time together can also turn to the library. Events like Family Bingo provide easy opportunities for families to have fun together and get out of the house. Grab a couple of board games from the Library of Things for a great family game night at home. And don’t forget about the StoryWalk by Pike Lake, which combines a story with fresh air and exercise for all ages.
And for readers setting goals of their own, the Adult Services team is always available to help. Whether you are trying to read more nonfiction, explore new genres or find an author you have never heard of before, staff members can point you to curated book lists or create personalized recommendations based on exactly what you enjoy.
Whatever you hope to accomplish this year, Warsaw Community Public Library offers practical support every step of the way. For information on these and other programs, resources and services, head to warsawlibrary.org.
