News Release
LARWILL – The Whitko FFA Chapter members continued their holiday tradition of turning the Ag Barn into a winter wonderland at their Christmas tree auction on Tuesday, Nov. 25, where they raised about $7,000 for this year.
On the Whitko Career Academy campus, the Ag Barn displayed a walkway of beautifully decorated Christmas trees, wreaths, seasonal decor and sweet treats. Guests previewed the auction items while enjoying hot cocoa, coffee, and a dessert bar served by FFA members. Online bidding also was available.
After a welcome by Whitko FFA Chapter President Lillie Sickafoose, FFA members lined up to showcase the items for auction. More than 100 items were available, including the FFA-themed quilt and Christmas gift basket, donated by Terri Reiff, receiving the top bid of the night.
The auction concluded by accepting bids on the poinsettias and table centerpieces displayed throughout the room. To close the event, Whitko FFA Chapter Vice President Marissa Rodgers thanked everyone who attended, the business sponsors, and the community for making their annual Winter Wonderland Christmas Auction a successful event. Whitko FFA also thanked Metzger Auction for providing auctioneer services. All proceeds from the auction support FFA members when they participate in upcoming contests and events.
