MENTONE — Bell Memorial Public Library is celebrating the season with a full month of festive fun.

December brings weekly visits from the Grinch and BMPL’s mischievous elf, each stirring up their own brand of holiday cheer. Stop in to discover what they’re up to next.

Preschool Story Hour
Parents, join BMPL at 10 a.m. every Friday in the Children’s Room for their free Preschool Story Hour, designed for children ages 2-6. Little learners will enjoy a story followed by a themed craft. Please note: Storytime will not be held on Dec. 26 due to the holiday.

Basic Smartphone Photography Class
At 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, BMPL will host a free, 90-minute Basic Smartphone Photography class. Wayne Pope, associate professor of photography at Lansing Community College, will guide attendees through improving smartphone photos, videos, and more. Registration is required, and no library card is needed to participate.

“The Christmas Caper” Interactive Challenge
Join the library Thursday, Dec. 18 – Tuesday, Dec. 23 for The Christmas Caper. Follow clues, crack puzzles, and uncover the culprit behind Santa’s missing Naughty and Nice List.

Family Storytime: Meet Gary the Farting Gingerbread Man
Get ready for laughs at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, during BMPL’s special family story time featuring Gary the Farting Gingerbread Man. This interactive event includes cookies and juice offered on a first-come, first-serve basis. It will be fun for the whole family.

BMPL patrons with a current library card can enjoy free access to Libby and Hoopla, offering eBooks, audiobooks, movies, TV shows, music, and more — perfect for busy families on the go.

Library Services
Don’t forget about BMPL’s additional services, including copying, faxing, and printing. BMPL also proudly provides free notary services, available by appointment Monday through Thursday.
