Sandra K. Freestone, age 72, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025, in Huntington. She was born on March 14, 1953, in Anderson, to Donald and Lavina (Hester) Swift. She married William Freestone on July 3, 1971, in Anderson. He passed away on Feb. 11, 2024.
Sandra was a graduate of Alexandra High School. She embarked on a fulfilling career in real estate while also serving as a certified nursing assistant-qualified medical aide in health care. Her commitment to helping others was evident in every aspect of her life; she was a hard worker who was not only kind and sweet but an exceptional cook who delighted in caring for those around her.
Sandra’s passion extended beyond her professional endeavors. She found immense joy in spending time with her grandchildren, nurturing them with love and wisdom while creating lasting memories. Her hobbies included gardening and engaging in arts and crafts, pursuits that brought her peace and allowed her to express her creativity. A devoted follower of Jesus Christ, Sandra cherished the opportunity to share her faith and touch the lives of others through her words and actions. She was known for her ability to brighten any room she entered with her warmth and genuine spirit.
Sandra is survived by her children, Becky (William) Whitridge and Ben (Stephanie) Freestone; her grandchildren, LaVina and Alyssa, Lillian and Lizabeth Freestone, Faith and Mark Guzman, and Hope and Noah Whitridge; her brothers, Donald, Gary (Betty) and Jeff (Sue) Swift; her sisters, Marcia Mauer and Leslie (Terry) Swift; and her brother-in-law, Mark Elsworth. Together, they carry forward her legacy of love, kindness and unwavering faith. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Freestone; her parents, Donald and Lavina (Hester) Swift; her sister, Toni Elsworth; her sister-in-law, Mary Swift; and brother-in-law, John Mauer.
Sandra K. Freestone will be remembered not only for her dedication to her family and career but also for the impact she made on the lives of those fortunate enough to know her. She leaves behind a heartfelt legacy that will never be forgotten.
A Life Celebration is entrusted to Titus Funeral Home of Syracuse. Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 1, at the funeral home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will take place at Syracuse Cemetery.
