Christmas in the Village: Celtic Christmas is happening Dec. 6 and 7.
News Release
WINONA LAKE – Celebrate the magic of the season with the Community Arts Program featuring two performances of Christmas in the Village: “Celtic Christmas,” at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6; and 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7.
Artistic Director Dr. Ardis Faber said, “What a beautiful time of year to share holiday favorites, infused with the spirit and charm of Celtic music—plus a few delightful surprises along the way.”
This musical journey blends the warmth of the holidays with the rich traditions of Celtic sound.
The program features performances by Vocal Vision’s adult choir, Vocal Vision Youth, Vocal Vibes, the Grace College Lancer Chorus, and the Wagon Wheel Symphony of the Lakes, as well as a special performance by Shannon Dunne and Friends.

Shannon Dunne and Friends is an inter-generational dance community created by Shannon Dunne to present programs that preserve and explore the many facets of the sean-nós dance tradition.
Shannon described the dance as “literally meaning ‘old style’ in Irish, the style is an exciting, improvised battering style dance, characterized by a loose, playful upper body, close to the floor steps, and a strong musicality. Up until recently, sean-nós dance has been kept alive in the remote areas of Connemara Gaeltacht, passed along through family and community lines.”
Shannon Dunne shares her performance style and curriculum on stages and in education centers at a global level. The Community Arts Program is glad to have these artists display their unique form of art during the Christmas in the Village celebration.
Tickets for these performances are $15, with a discounted rate of $12 for students and senior adults. Children five and under are free with a paid ticket. Tickets can be purchased online at the Community Arts Program website here. Tickets will also be available at the door, but seats fill quickly.
